JULIAN COPE DEMOS '90 - in 2005 an Island promo cassette appeared for sale on the Popsike website, featuring PEGGY SUICIDE era tracks and demos. It has never subsequently been bootlegged - three tracks are of particular interest, namely LITTLE DONKEY (which it has been speculated may be the same as the version released as part of the EAST EASY RIDER single), WESTERN FRONT 1992 (which has Julian on vocals, rather than Lulu Chivers, Edwina Vernon, and Camilla Mayer), and JUNG'KIE which is described as "particularly important, as not only is it unreleased, but is in fact the 'title' track of the Peggy Suicide story, and is one of his best tracks ever, which makes its non-appearance quite surprising". This may be an early version of PEGGY SUICIDE IS A JUNKIE.

Cope's Sardinian road trip/1990 World Cup/Scally hooligan/chart-toppers novel 'One Three One' was published by Faber & Faber in 2014. To accompany the book, Julian and co-conspirators got busy in the studio, recording hours of music that they attributed to the fictional artists mentioned throughout the story. Naturally, this only served to confuse matters, as some of the material mentioned did eventually make it to release (via Bandcamp, on Lord Yatesbury ultra-limited CD-rs, or elsewhere), and some of it may never have been recorded at all. Here's what we know:

ATLANTIS? - ATLANTIS? 12" LP.

There is no link to this at the Doorway. However, Urthona recorded a CD album entitled URTHONA PLAYS ATLANTIS?. with the same cover art. The Head Heritage website states: "purports to be the work of Sardinian cave anarchists led by a 15-year-old sub-Hendrix"

BRITS ABROAD - LAST TANGO IN PARIS 7" SINGLE, LIVE AT DEHYDRATED 12" E.P.

There is no link to either of these at the Doorway, and 'Live at Dehydrated' may never have been actually recorded. There is, however, a Brits Abroad e.p. available on a limited edition CD featuring 'Last Tango in Paris' as its lead track.

DAYGLO MARADONA - AMERICAN WERWOLF 12" SINGLE, ROCK SECTION WHITE VINYL 12" SINGLE

The Doorway link offers a free Bandcamp download of 'Rock Section'. The white vinyl 12" does exist. 'American Werwolf' is an extra track on the CD-r release of 'Rock Section'

MICK GOODBY / EXERCISE CLUB - KICK / BIG CHEESE 7" SINGLE

In the world of the novel, this 'Light My Fire'-sampling novelty record was a number one smash hit. The Doorway link offers a free Bandcamp download of 'Kick'. 'Kick' was also released on a very limited edition (10 copies has been reported) on CD-r. 'Big Cheese' seems unavailable and may not have ever been recorded

FOREST OF DEAN - TRIPPING 10" E.P. & CASSETTE

Fictional releases, although the Doorway leads to a Bandcamp free download of a track titled 'Black Forest of Dean'

JUDGE BARRY HERZOG - NIHILISM V. DENIALISM LP & CASSETTE, THE BEST OF SLAG VAN BLOWDRIVER LP & CASSETTE, PURIFYING / PUTRIFYING LP & CASSETTE (collaboration with Tiny)

'The Best of Slag Van Blowdriver' was released on CD (but not on LP or cassette!). The Doorway offers a free Bandcamp download entitled 'The Border Rebel'. The other LPs mentioned do not seem to exist and may not have been recorded. No evidence of Tiny, either!

KIT KAT RAPPERS - SECOND CLASS TO DOTTINGHAM 7" SINGLE, HER MAJESTY'S PLEASURE 7" SINGLE

Seemingly a non-existent act whose 7" singles are yet to materialise in vinyl or any other format, and may not have been recorded. Fictional band members include Gary Have-a-laugh, Stu, and Yeh-Yeh, plus occasional guest rapper Full English Breakfast. No Doorway link

LOW COUNTRIES - ANASTASIA ANAESTHESIA 7" SINGLE, EWERTHON 7" SINGLE

No Doorway link. Records not released and possibly never recorded. Low Countries' blurb reads "This Liverpool Post-Punk outfit was the place where One Three One hero Rock Section cut his music business teeth, being ‘installed’ in the band as lead singer at age seventeen by their manager/svengali Arthur Tadgell"

MAKE FUCK - MAKE FUCK LP

No Doorway link. No actual release and possibly no genuine recordings. Supposedly a power trio "Formed in the southern Sardu foothills of Mt Línas by cave anarchists from nearby Gonnosfanadiga"

NEON SARDINIA - S'AKKABADORA HEMINA LP/CASSETTE

Not released on LP or cassette, but this one did make it to a real-world CD. The Doorway link offers a shortened version of one of the 20-minute-plus tracks from the album, the 7.23 'S’akkabadòra-Hèmina (edit)'

NURSE WITH MOUND - MIXING CONCRETE ONE-SIDED ETCHED 12" LP/CASSETTE

'MIxing Concrete' is available for £5 as a Bandcamp download via the Doorway link, and several individual tracks ('Aum A Sahara', 'Ken Kesey', 'Syd Vicious') can be purchased as downloads from the same link for £1 each. Those three tracks and half-a-dozen others appeared on the genuine CD-r release 'We Apologise For Nothing'

SPACKHOUSE TOTTU - THE DAEMON 7" SINGLE, THE WIG 7" SINGLE, SPACKHOUSE TOTTU LP/CASSETTE, LOVELY HOTEL BUT NO ROOM FOR ME, SHIT LP/CASSETTE

'The Daemon' is available as a free Bandcamp download via the Doorway link. None of the above-named records exist, but Spackhouse Tottu did release a four-track CD-r e.p. (with five tracks listed on the cover!)

SPION KOP - DAS BOOT / WIRRALWORK 7" SINGLE

Although the 7" single doesn't exist, there was an ultra-limited edition (5 copies) of 'Das Boot' released on the Lord Yatesbury label. 'Das Boot' is also available for free Bandcamp download via the Doorway link. 'Wirralwork' may be completely fictional and unrecorded.

VESUVIO - VESUVIO LP/CASSETTE

There is a Doorway link but nothing is shown when this is accessed. The 'Vesuvio' album did receive a proper real-world CD release, but is not available on LP or cassette as stated here.
