Just listening to this typically fascinating podcast episode of 'The Infinite Monkey Cage': https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p08jzybv
It's on the nature of time, and one of the guests is Mark Gatiss. Trust him to drag the conversation in the direction of Brit Horror! When one of the physicists says that we remember the past, but never the future, Gatiss brings up Nigel Kneale's 'The Road', which causes a brief diversion in which co-host Robin Ince mentions such things as 'The Stone Tape' and John Carpenter's 'Prince of Darkness'. It's always nice when horror references pop up in unexpected places. :) If anyone else can link to other such examples (or just interesting podcasts in general, coz I'm always on the hunt for those), then feel free to post links!
I've listened to a few of these now and they get the Moodie thumbs up. Intelligent, insightful, and knowledgeable.
Ooh! I think I might have found another decent podcast on horror films! I haven't listened to much so far, but what I have heard is promising: https://www.evolutionofhorror.com/
Gatiss on Nigel Kneale: https://bergcast.room207press.com/2020/08/episode-15-mark-gatiss-on-legacy-of.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
Listened to it! Lovely stuff. It was nice to hear Mark talking about his childhood experience with Pertwee's Who, which is very similar to my own!
I really enjoyed this. One bonus of the lockdown is that Gatiss has done a few podcasts. My Time Capsule is a good one: https://www.podplay.com/en/podcast/294003/my-time-capsule
And now, at around 33 mins, he's talking about how Doctor Who deals with science! Good stuff this - licence fee justified!
