Is anyone else a member? I joined because I bought a present in the UK and it is free for the first month (we have German prime already) but wow, the amount of trash, b-movies, horrors and gialli that are available to watch is fantastic!
Anyone else here have it...you know, from the four or five others that post?
I've been having a crash course in the finer points of the Giallo genre, courtesy of Prime. They seem to have a deal going on with Shameless, as quite a few of the films they put out are up for grabs on there, as well as non-Gialli Italian jobs like Soavi's The Church and the Sect, and several Fulci films including The New York Ripper, which I'm still too much of a wuss to watch (it sounds pretty unpleasant, even by the standards of the goremaestro himself...)
A lot of lesser US horror and SF films on there too, though many are public domain copies of extremely knackered prints. Against that, I watched a pristine HD version of X-The Unknown this afternoon, which looked and sounded great!
Also on Prime, both seasons of the fantastic Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated, with plenty of stuff for the likes of us to pick up on (there was a clever little throwaway gag in one episode which referenced Hellraiser, for instance,) plus Udo Keir voicing the main villain (a talking megalomaniac parrot) and Harlan Ellison playing himself alongside Jeffrey Combs as horror author "H P Hatecraft". I bet Darryl would appreciate the episode I watched today which had an undead Ska band returning from the grave after 30 years and sending people into outbreaks of zombie skanking...
I am still recommending this!
This thread must have caused great excitement then.
BTW 'four or five others that post' is a bit optimistic. Mostly this is just the Mal'n'Mike show :-D
We've got the Spanish Prime. Mainly for series. I get most of my trash, B Movies, horrors etc from 'specialist online stockists'. ;-)
I'm not a member, which takes some effort considering the traps that Amazon try to leave for you. I think a few Pat Higgins (zcarstheme) films are available.
