James Bridie's play about Dr. Knox and Burke & Hare has proved popular over the years with several British TV adaptations, including a 1980s version with Patrick Stewart. This Towers of London TV film stars Alastair Sim as Knox and is generally very well acted with Michael Ripper as Hare delivering perhaps his best screen performance. Others in the cast are Adrienne Corri, George Cole and Jill Bennett. It is of course excruciatingly dull since Bridie's play is immensely tedious, focusing mainly on boring, overly-genteel drawing room conversations.

I had this one on VHS. I found it crushingly boring and have never bothered looking for a digital replacement.
