Grieving after the death of his family, William Sylvester goes to Morocco where uncanny things await him.
It's 40+ years since I sort of saw this film and didn't much like it. In fairness, trying to watch on a tiny, black & white portable that lost reception any time anyone in the caravan moved is not the ideal conditions in which to appreciate any film, and certainly not a deliberately-paced, dreamlike story such as this one. Now, in 2020, watching on Talking Pictures, I liked it quite a bit. It certainly conveys the atmosphere of a dream at times, despite an obvious low budget. Director Frederic Goode, whose career seems to be summed up as kids' films and pedestrian adventures in exotic locales, occasionally provides imaginative touches and, somehow, my interest was maintained throughout. In some ways, it put me in mind of Incense for the Damned (Bloodsuckers), albeit without that film's obvious production woes.
