Hope you've all received your Norman J Warren box sets - and replacement discs. Lovely collection. How great to watch the 'scissors' version of SATAN'S SLAVE last night! And a glance through the contents indicates that my double-dip on this box and on Vinegar Syndrome's BLOODY NEW YEAR Jan 1st release wasn't the disaster it appeared, since the discs seem to have different NJW commentaries on them.
'Bloody Terror' is a great umbrella title, but I wish they'd considered using 'Evil Heritage'.
PREY later tonight...
The BLOODY NEW YEAR source print for both Vinegar Syndrome and Indicator isn't all that great, but apparently it's the only one that could be located.
It's being reported that the INSEMINOID disc is jamming or freezing in some players. Indicator are on the case and certain to offer replacements. Having already sent out replacement discs for PREY and TERROR, this set seems cursed! So if you do buy, it's probably best to do so directly from Powerhouse/Indicator than anywhere else - that way, you'll get your problem discs sorted, no questions asked, if necessary.
Thanks D. I'll probably pony up for this.
Well a fair amount of that is ported over, but you do get BLOODY NEW YEAR and the sleazy 'scissors' scene from SATAN'S SLAVE, as shown at QUAD when Norman and McGillivray came. Some good new interviews with NJW, some surviving footage from his early amateur work, and the NORMAN J WARREN PRESENTS HORRORSHOW anthology that was shown at Manchester a few years back. So if you like quality Blu-ray extras, this is worth going for. If it's just the films, then get Vinegar Syndrome's BLOODY NEW YEAR import instead (or don't!)
Is it worth the upgrade on the old Anchor Bay coffin box set I've got?
