A 12-year old schoolboy whose mother is dying is visited by a tree monster who tells him three stories. I'm baffled as to who the audience for this film is supposed to be. It's very well made and well acted with beautiful animation but it's very sombre stuff. A quick look at Box Office Mojo tells me that it was a big hit in Spain but did almost no business anywhere else. So, I suppose the target audience is "Spanish people".
