Critically-acclaimed "psychological horror" from director Yorgos Lanthimos who would go on to win major awards for his next film, The Favourite. And I thought it was a horrendous viewing experience. What do you say about any film that makes a definite artistic choice to make its dialogue and performances as stilted as possible? It's like this movie was made by non-humans trying and failing to approximate human speech and behaviour. Apparently many reviewers found this eerie and unsettling. It just pissed me off and bored me.

To be honest a lot of modern films give me the same impression.
