It's breaking my heart a bit that I won't get to see this at one of the few cinemas that remain open but I have elderly parents who aren't in the best of health and movies aren't life or death so I will have to wait for the disc in due course. This one has been picking up exceptional reviews: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/saint_maud

Saw this on my birthday yesterday and it is as great as everyone has been saying. An in-depth character study (imagine Carrie White and her mum being the same person!) which really gets inside the mind of Maud. Scarborough has never looked so scary! Builds slowly to an impact-filled climax, but there are quiet little shocks dotted throughout (the big finale is truly impressive, but even more terrifying for this viewer was the simple mention of a girl's name during a very routine, ordinary conversation about halfway through the film). Highly recommended.
